About Mark Sharp, CFP®

Mark Sharp, CFP®, RICP®, WMCP® works with people approaching retirement and those in the early years of retirement who are trying to answer questions such as:

  • * How much can I reasonably spend in retirement?

  • * When should I claim Social Security?

  • * Which accounts should I draw from, and in what order?

  • * Should I be making Roth conversions?

  • * How should my investments change once I begin relying on them for income?

Those questions rarely stand alone. A Social Security decision can change portfolio withdrawals. Withdrawals can affect taxes and Medicare premiums. Tax decisions made today can influence the options available later. Mark helps clients address the questions that brought them in while also identifying the issues, tradeoffs, and consequences they may not yet know to consider.

His work follows the Retirement Coordination Framework™: Spending → Income → Tax → Investment. The process begins with what retirement resources need to support, then determines how spending will be funded, evaluates the tax implications of those income decisions, and aligns investments with the responsibilities those assets are expected to fulfill.

Because these decisions continue to change as retirement unfolds, Mark works with clients through an ongoing advisory relationship rather than a one-time retirement plan. The goal is to keep spending, income, tax, and investment decisions working together as circumstances change and new decisions arise.

About Mark Sharp Retirement

About Mark Sharp Retirement

Mark Sharp Retirement is a fee-only retirement advisory firm serving people approaching retirement and those in the early years of retirement.

The firm is built around a simple idea: retirement decisions are easier to evaluate when they are addressed in the right sequence and considered together rather than one at a time.

Its work follows the Retirement Coordination Framework™:

Spending → Income → Tax → Investment

That means beginning with what retirement resources need to support, determining how that spending will be funded, evaluating the tax implications of income decisions, and then aligning investments with the responsibilities those assets are expected to fulfill.

This structure helps clients address the questions they already know they have while also identifying related decisions, tradeoffs, and consequences that may not yet be obvious.

Because retirement continues to change, the firm works with clients through an ongoing advisory relationship rather than a one-time planning engagement. Spending, income, tax, and investment decisions are revisited over time as circumstances change and new decisions arise.
